The Women's Club of Powell welcomes as its November speaker Charlene Jendry, the Founding member and Director of Partners in Conservation (PIC), the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium's signature international conservation program. This program was initiated in 1991 to help both the wildlife and the local people in Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. As Director of the PIC program she spends seven weeks every year in Rwanda working with projects and evaluating programs that are supported by this organization. Her presentation will discuss how a grass roots project at the Columbus Zoo is saving lives of endangered mountain gorillas and giving the local people an opportunity to reach their full potential through their artistic endeavors. For more information on this program, you may check out www.columbuszoo.org/PIC
